The Bishop Challoner group worked with artist Chris Dugrenier to identify what they’d like to see and do at mac. The ideas that emerged range from the practical to wildly aspirational!

Courses:

  • Classes in different styles of dance: ballet, Hip-hop, contemporary
  • Crash courses
  • Set design course
  • Photography
  • Animation
  • Costume making
  • Make up and hair design
  • Flower arrangement
  • Artists in residence to help with youth projects

 

Design elements:

  • Lounge chairs in the theatre
  • Cushioned rooms with pillows and blankets
  • Pictures of famous people around the rooms
  • Water room or view of the lake from under the building
  • Colourful
  • Spacious

 

Activities:

  • Fashion show for recycled clothes and celebrating new young upcoming designers
  • Listening to live Bands of different styles
  • Bouncy castle
  • Stand-up comedy
  • Presentation of theatrical ballets (that tells a story)
  • Hair and make-up competitions
  • Scooters to travel around the MAC and the Park
  • Disco for under 16s
  • Flower weekends
  • Silent disco
  • Different artists in residence
  • Exhibition of work by young artists

  • Dance studio
  • ‘The White Room’(blank canvas room to paint at will. The room is constantly evolving being layered onto. Every couple of months the room is re-painted over for a new transformation…)

  • The Collage Wall (a wall where people can place their photos of their time at the MAC)
